About This Project
The MoonLight Foundry is designed for the modern enthusiast at heart. The exterior facade is primarily monotone aside from intermediate “splashes” of red. Inside, the center of the home is easily the large, 3-sided fireplace that stretches from floor to 14′-0″ ceiling heights. Natural lighting is predominate thru window-scapes along the east, north and western facades. Although the Moonlit Foundry is a four bedroom home, it has been organized to effectively devote the second floor entirely to the Master’s of the home. A few of the Master Suite amenities include a sun room, his/her closets, office space and spa. Please follow the Design & Build story of the Moonlit Foundry as we develop custom details like floating timber stair treads, back-lit mirror walls, knob-less wood cabinetry and more!
X Marks the Spot
Excavators finished digging the Moonlit Foundry, and we're prepared to work our way out of the hole this week.
The Calm Before the Storm
Foundation form-work built, rebar tied and hold-downs are located. One day of work leads to an hour of pouring.
The foundation for the MoonLit Foundry is complete. Blue skies mean that we get to start shaping the site-work.
Onward and Upward
The MoonLit Foundry has its floor. Now we really get a feel for the square footage of a home. Once the trusses are installed we will feel its volume.
We're in the kitchen at The MoonLit Foundry. Carpenters are building the hand-cut ceiling and stairwell. Custom cuts for a custom home.
We have to catch up on our updates this week! A lot was accomplished at the Moonlight Foundry. The front entry is formed-up and poured.
The Moonlight Foundry has reached dry-in stage and we are ready to rough-in utilities.
Siding is on the wall at the MoonLight Foundry. We've gone with a modern approach and designed a monotone color scheme.
Sneak peak of the fireplace that gives the MoonLight Foundry its name. Big thanks to our favorite model of all time for fitting us into her schedule!
Tape & Texture
Now that the sheetrock is installed we decided to float a smoother texture on the wall to maintain that modern approach.
White penny tile floor s and 12" x 24" wall tile set on a vertical brick stack. Just what this modern shower needs.
Spent the day with our countertop crew. Installed 10 different custom slabs in one days worth of work.
Blood & Sweat
BKS is not here to design OR build. We are here to CREATE! That takes some effort. Fortunately, blood and sweat are renewable resources.
Master Shower Install
We've got clean chrome corners, 360 degree matching grout lines, mitered wood casement and warm, inviting natural light.
We took three 4' tall cloth cylinders and created a true show stopper. These lights hang randomly from a 15' vaulted ceiling in the Master Bath.
